- Manage and be accountable for category’s performance metric.
- Be the subject matter expert for the assigned category.
- Performs RFP / RFQ in support of projects and mass production products.
- Perform market intelligence for benchmarking and strategies formation.
- Conduct business review meeting and manage supplier rating.
- Establish supplier capacity corridor to ensure supply assurance.
- Strategic Material risk management.
- Co-own supplier audit with Supplier Quality Engineering for (new and) existing supplier
- Periodic performance review to meet / exceed KPI.
- Interface with stakeholders on procurement strategies.
- Develop the sourcing strategy for the assigned category through leading a sourcing team.
- Be accountable for total cost of ownership (TCO) for the assigned category.
- Develop supply base for assigned category to support current and future business needs to achieve key business objectives of Time to Market, TCO and Supply Continuity.
- Lead and drive sourcing team and sourcing board activities to execute category strategies across the organization.
- Ensure sourcing decisions and product development aligns with supplier selection; and to communicate sourcing goals to stakeholders.
- Accountable for categories’ escalations with support from managers.
- Provide oversight of procurement strategies in conjunction with execution of site procurement tactics.
- Responsible for sourcing board proposals and sourcing decisions.
- Together with the manager, to enlist site leadership, when appropriate, to help reinforce commitment and involvement from suppliers.

- Lead supplier negotiation to achieve annual saving goals.
- Lead appropriate engagement models with internal stakeholders and cross-functional team.
- Build and sustain a strong supplier relationship together with cross-functional team using periodic Business Review, driving Supplier on improvement plan.
- Manage supplier performance via the sourcing team approach.
- Mentor and guide junior individual contributors
- To be the on-boarding buddy for new team members.
- To provide guidance in developing a high performing procurement team.
- Lead and drive sourcing team to execute category strategies across the organization; ensure coherent supplier selection, sourcing decisions and product development.
- To provide guidance to in formulating negotiation strategy and lead negotiation on complex agreement to achieve annual saving goals.
- To step up as category manager when necessary.
What we look for
- Preferably holds a Degree or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Microelectronics, Chemical Process, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Candidates with non-technical academic backgrounds but relevant experience may also be considered.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in the semiconductor, optical semiconductor, or contract manufacturing industries, with preference for candidates experienced in supplier interactions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Knowledge of contract law is an added advantage.
