Description of the tasks:
- Lead and manage the Application Engineering and Product Marketing team for the AMEC region (US, Canada, Mexico and South America) to support customer design-in activities across diverse lighting applications such as professional, horticultural, and industrial segments in cooperation with the sales team and partners.
- Responsibility for upstream marketing and application engineering by identifying customer requirements, competitive, long-term market and technology trends (5+ years horizon), conducting feasibility studies, and contributing to the strategic product roadmap for the region.
- Develop and execute Go-to-Market strategies (including the launch of new products with technical marketing content) for the region, with a particular focus on new technologies and the Mass Market / Distribution business
- Build and maintain management-level relationships with key customers and distribution partners
- Responsibility for achieving sales targets and market share in the AMEC region
- Determination of sales funnel targets and joint implementation with the sales and marketing teams
- Responsible for the regional illumination forecast process
- Managing the internal interfaces to Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain and Quality.
- Maintain active engagement with industry associations, academic institutions, and standards bodies to stay at the forefront of lighting technology developments.
What we look for
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field, MS/ MBA preferred
- 10+ years of relevant combined experience in technical and management roles (marketing, engineering) within the opto semiconductor or electronics industry
- Deep technical understanding of opto-semiconductors and lighting applications
- Experience in semiconductor mass market/distribution management
- Self-driven, leads by example, and fosters a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to influence stakeholders
- Willingness to travel in the region with good multicultural understanding
- 30-40% domestic travel, occasional international
