The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, controls, and related components in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner. This role supports production, and maintenance operations by ensuring electrical equipment is operating properly, downtime is minimized, and all work complies with applicable safety standards, electrical codes, and company procedures.
Work Schedule: This position works 3rd Shift, 11:00pm - 7:00am, on a rotating schedule of 13 days on followed by 1 day off, including two weekends per month. Overtime available on Saturdays, with double pay on Sundays.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, motors, panels, lighting, controls, sensors, drives, lasers, robots and related equipment.
- Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate test equipment, schematics, wiring diagrams, meters, and technical documentation.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, facility systems, and electrical infrastructure.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, ladder logic, equipment manuals, and engineering specifications.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair control systems, including motor controls, relays, variable frequency drives, and programmable logic controller interfaces as applicable.
- Ensure all electrical work is completed in accordance with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and company standards.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, parts used, and recommended follow-up actions.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production support calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, production, and safety teams to improve equipment reliability and workplace safety.
- Maintain tools, electrical supplies, spare parts, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Who we are looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certificate, vocational training, associate degree in electrical technology, or equivalent electrical maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing electrical equipment in an industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or facilities environment.
- Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and maintenance functions, including but not limited to motors, motor control centers, relays, breakers, electrical disconnects, and rotating machinery, is desirable.
- Must be able to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, sketches, control wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and other written instructions for equipment operation.
- Ability to use various electrical test equipment, including a multimeter.
- Knowledge of wiring practices under NFPA standards.
- Working knowledge of electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe use of testing equipment.
- Ability to work with the Engineering team to design and implement solutions when problems arise.
- Basic computer skills for work orders, maintenance records, and equipment documentation.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
