- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of MES and MES extended solutions supporting manufacturing automation (Industry 4.0).
Drive enterprise MES strategy and roadmap aligned with manufacturing and digital transformation.
Define and govern system architecture, integration patterns, and standards across the shopfloor landscape.
Ensure alignment with manufacturing, quality, and IT enterprise standards across sites. - Own and approve system design and functional specifications, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
Act as the technical authority and primary liaison with development centers & solution architects, governing solution realization and quality outcomes.
Lead design governance and influence key architectural decisions. - Lead and govern shopfloor modeling, routing design, and MES master data strategy.
Establish and enforce data standards and governance frameworks to ensure integrity, scalability, and reuse. - Provide expert-level technical support for complex MES issues.
Lead cross-functional teams and external partners to resolve high-impact production challenges and drive decisions without direct authority. - Lead and oversee ITAT and UAT for MES/MES extended solutions. Define testing strategies, quality gates, and ensure release readiness.
- Oversee development of training materials and deliver advanced training. Act as a senior technical mentor and promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Define and govern system monitoring, preventive maintenance, and high-availability strategies.
Ensure minimal disruption and drive continuous improvement in system reliability. - Lead NPI and MES/shopfloor improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Accountable for 24x7 production support readiness, including escalation handling and root cause analysis.
Drive continuous improvement in incident management and SLA performance.
What we look for
- Master Degree/Bachelor's Degree/Professional Degree in IT, Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in software development or system analysis, with a focus on shopfloor modeling and manufacturing systems.
- Know-how on Change Management Process, Incident Management Process, Demand Management process, System Development Life Cycle.
- 1-2 years management experience on junior engineers, provide guidance, support and mentorship.
- Strong knowledge of MES software, Experience with ERP systems and their integration with MES.
- Experienced in VB/C# .NET programming, Strong in SQL, Oracle database and store procedure, Experienced with Tibco, web service, Window IIS setup, Agile methodology and SCRUM knowledge added advantage & Experienced in Incident/Service Management, Release Management and Project Management added advantage.
- Strong communication in English, Malay, Mandarin (Optional) languages and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving technology trends and business requirements, capable of setting priorities and remaining efficient while multi-taking & Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
