For our IP team at ams OSRAM International GmbH in Regensburg, Germany, we are seeking an engaged Patent Attorney (f/m/x) who can understand technological developments, recognize their commercial significance, and build and maintain an industry-leading patent portfolio.

  • Work closely with R&D teams and conduct IP workshops to identify patentable innovations (invention harvesting).
  • Advise internal business and technical stakeholders on the validity, relevance, and scope of protection of both company-owned and third-party intellectual property rights.
  • Conduct IP risk assessments related to the development of new products and technologies.
  • Support patent litigation, patent-related disputes, licensing projects, and other IP-related transactions as required.

What we look for

  • Solid understanding of optoelectronics and related technical fields is advantageous.
  • Qualified Patent Attorney (e.g., European, German, and/or U.S. Patent Attorney).
  • Several years of relevant professional experience following patent attorney qualification, ideally within an industrial patent department.
  • Extensive experience and a genuine passion for drafting patent applications and handling or managing patent prosecution proceedings.
  • Strong value-oriented mindset and the ability to align IP decisions with technological and business objectives. Experience in IP commercialization, transactions, and/or litigation is considered an advantage.
  • Open-minded team player with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including interaction with R&D teams, management, and external partners.
  • Fluent in English and preferably also in German.

What We Offer
A responsible in-house position at the intersection of technology, law, and business strategy.
The opportunity to support innovations from their inception through to commercial exploitation in a globally operating high-tech company.
Direct collaboration with inventors, development teams, management, and IP professionals.
A technologically challenging environment covering diverse topics in lighting, sensor, and semiconductor technologies.
