- The topic of the dissertation: Investigation and optimization of III-V-semiconductor-based light sources for parallel short-range data communication
- Characterization of the electro-optical properties of LED and laser structures, with particular emphasis on their suitability for optical data transmission
- Formulation and experimental verification of hypotheses to improve the physical understanding of the obtained results
- Development and implementation of new measurement stations as needed, particularly with regards to accessing higher frequency ranges
- Close collaboration in experimental design and data analysis with simulation, epitaxy, process and chip development groups
What we look for
- Successfully completed master’s degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, technical physics, or a comparable field
- Sound theoretical knowledge in the field of high-frequency technology, ideally supplemented by some practical experience
- Interest in semiconductor physics and optoelectronic components; existing knowledge is an advantage
- Motivated by complex challenges at the cutting edge of current technological possibilities and willingness to continuously deepen the required expertise
- Enjoys a significant amount of work in the laboratory
- Proficiency in English required, German language skills beneficial
