Position Summary: We are seeking a positive and energetic Supplier Quality Engineer to support WX site with a Zero-Defect mindset, strong passion in driving process improvements and problem solving with external suppliers. The candidate would join a multi-national team which works together to ensure the delivery of high-quality and compliance material through active collaboration with suppliers and internal team across regions.
Key Responsibility:
- Responsibile for assigned external LED chip suppliers for the whole product lifecycle
- Develop automotive chip suppliers to highest quality standards using “Zero Tolerance to Defect” methodology and approach
- Perform assessment and evaluation of new suppliers in global cross functional teams with focus on Quality Management.
- Perform process audits at suppliers, following IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 standards to ensure compliance and meeting the standards and requirement of the organization
- Support and setup on approval of technical chip specifications with supplier, R&D, production and procurement team
- Qualification planning for new chips from external suppliers with R&D and reliability team for final release to production
- Identify areas for improvements & set up / review relevant process KPIs for critical processes
- Review and perform risk assessment on Supplier Process Change request and support internal Change Management workflow.
What we look for
- Technical degree (Bachelor or higher) in Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Material Science or equivalent
- Minimum 8 – 10 years’ experience in Semiconductor Industry preferably in LED Chip Fabrication, Packaging & Quality related field
- Possess strong organization and complex problem-solving skills
- Ability to think strategically and work independently with minimum supervision
- Fast learner and excellent communicator/negotiator both in English and Chinese
- Willingness to travel in short notice with supplier management know-how
- Automotive background and in-depth knowledge on Automotive Core Tools (8D, FMEA, 5WHY, VDA6.3, IATF 16949, etc.)
- Knowledge and understanding on physical failure analysis, electron microscopy, testing of semiconductor devices would be advantageous
