Specialist (Material Planning)

Your new responsibilities

Position summary
1. Responsible for material planning & purchase to support production loading.
2. Responsible for shipment monitoring to ensure timely delivery of materials in order to meet production schedule.
3. Responsible for managing phase in & phase out of materials to ensure smooth transition in production.
4. Responsible for inventory management to meet the inventory level set by company.
5. Responsible for preparing month end reports & analysis.
6. Responsible for planning enhancement & improvement activities to improve productive.
7. Responsible for stationary stock replenishment, Ariba PO creation & interface with security.

 

A. Demand management
1. Prepare MRP in order to calculate the forecasted requirements & to determine the order quantity.
2. Prepare & provide rolling forecast to suppliers to ensure sufficient leadtime to support our requirement.
3. To raise purchase requisition (PR)/ pruchase Order (PO)/ Scheduling Agreement (SA) to purchase for needed materials and route for approval.
4. Support Change management by periodically preparing a phase in/ phase out plan of new and old matl inventory status and inform all parties involved till material is successfully phased in. 
5. Ensure sufficient new materials being purchased to support phase in without impacting production schedule or phase in timeline.
6. Confirm new materials having proper documentation and approval obtained before phasing in.
7. Support planning improvement activities to ensure material planning with better productivity with timely manner.

 

B. Delivery fulfillment
1. To obtain delivery commitment from suppliers & review with supply planners on their build schedule to ensure build requirements are met. Practice pull in, push out and cancellation of materials depanding on demand situation to ensure no material shortage to production and no excessive stock situation in case of production ramp up/down.
2. Follow-up on supplier delivery to ensure parts are shipped on time & as per commit so as not to have excessive inventory or material shortage in production.
3. To escalate to purchasing and manager in case of any late delivery or short shipment that potentially cause line down.
4. To send early warning to supply planner/production in case of insufficient materials due shipment delay, technical hold etc. This is to allow supply planner to reschedule their build plan according to matl availability and to avoid line down at production.

 

C. Inventory management
1. Prepare monthly inventory projection according to model set & to be used as guideline to manage inventory level in order to meet company target.
2. Prepare monthly inventory report. Analyze and categorize the inventory. Identify the excessive or risk inventory so  that special attention can be given to manage & minimize inventory risk.
3. Monitor on hold materials status (due to quality issues etc) & update the status/progress  to management from time to time to ensure proper action/treatment are taken.
4. Review old matl inventory including salvaging activities if required to ensure matls are depleted so as to reduce risk inventory and write off cost.

 

D. Operation issue 
1. Prepare & send monthly consignment report to vendors. Verify the consignment report numbers are correct so that payment will be made correctly to vendors.
2. Review materials sitting at IQA and expedite for buy off in order to ensure smooth material supply to production.
3. Request for BOM / master data / material change or creation when needed.
4. Link BOM in SAP according to the list given by engineers/master data team.
5. Ensure work done adhere to compliance regulations.


What we look for


  • Bachelor's Degree in any field.
  • At least 1-3 years of working experience in Supply Chain Management planning. Preferable with SAP knowledge. 
  • Experience in material planning task, Microsoft Office tool, SAP.
  • Able to rationalize and relates each objectives and assigned task with individual performance.
  • Understands short and long term individual and own business areas direction.
  • Strong analytical skill, well-developed interpersonal & communication.
  • Get to know each other closely especially within own business area.
  • To understand individual differences in their behaviours, values and attributes.
  • Respects each others differences.
