- Design, document, program and commission machine vision-based automation.
- Develop a working understanding of existing algorithms and applications.
- Will be required to stay knowledgeable of latest machine vision technology.
- Evaluate and propose upgrade paths for obsolete equipment.
- Provide training for maintenance and other appropriate personnel on the use and support of machine vision and scanning applications.
- Assist with troubleshooting new and existing systems.
- Work within an automation team environment alongside mechanical, electrical and machine vision engineers.
Who we are looking for
- Machine vision design including: specification and selection of appropriate camera systems, optics, novel lighting techniques, fixturing and interfacing.
- Experience with interfacing of machine vision to a variety of industrial equipment types including lasers, welders, robots, motion control and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
- Demonstrated working knowledge of vision applications for: measurement, positioning feedback, defect recognition, brand or laser etch verification.
- In-depth machine vision experience with at least one or more of the following commercial systems required: DVT, Cognex, Keyence or a PC-based frame grabber system.
- Software experience required: Visual Basic/VB.net, or similar languages (Visual Studio)
- Must know how to write and interpret technical specifications.
- Strong collaboration, communication and project management skills.
- Requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Required Education and Industry Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Science or Machine Vision Engineering. Advanced degrees preferred, But not required.
- 7-12 years experience designing, commissioning and troubleshooting machine vision-based systems.
- This position is 100% on-site based at the Hillsboro, NH manufacturing facility.
